Christmas in Stockholm
Stockholm has a unique reputation among all other European capitals. Winter turns Stockholm into an incredibly fabulous place. By some reason the old Stockholm is much more attractive in in winter. It possesses its own inimitable atmosphere with its market, handmade souvenirs, sweet chestnuts and of course, glogg.

There is a great place in Stockholm called Skansen. This worldwide known outdoor museum was built in 1891. Fans of Swedish architecture will be happy. Furthermore, there are some buildings not only preserved until now but still functioning! You just need to come here in the last evening before Christmas and see yourself those old schools, bakeries, post offices and forging shops.
It the late December there is a nice Christmas market in Skansen. It’s impossible to imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this place. If you are not a a big shopper you can, let’s say, try baking some bread with the 19th century bakery equipment. Challenging enough, isn’t it?

Stureplan square in Stockholm will touch your feelings even if you are a convinced non-shopper. People say that all the pleasure is related not to the souvenirs you buy but to the process itself. Stureplan should certainly be visited in your Christmas holidays. One will hardly find such a place with such a Scandinavian atmosphere in any other corner of the planet.
After shopping you could go for ice-skating and have a great entertainment with your friends. It’s a public place where mainly tourists come to spend time. It makes the skating rink a perfect place for meeting new people.
Family fare
Without a doubt, Stockholm museums are a great option for kids and adults. All in all, there are many attractions created specifically for families. Tourists adore Stockholm circus so it would be fantastic if you take your family there. Great performers always prepare something really amusing. Your children will have really much fun! Stockholm circus is a must-see place for any family tour.
There are also tours on ferry. Find a ferry just near the Opera and go for a great tour around the area. But be careful – if it’s a windy day it is really cold aboard. They offer thick buck skin to all tourists, so don’t be modest and ask any of the employees about that. When there is fine weather a ferry tour is an ideal solution.

Stockholm has a small light day in early winter and sometimes the weather becomes simply unbearable. Even if the temperature seems to be fine the piercing wind can spoil all plans. When it’s windy outside it could be a good idea to stay at home.

Royal Opera and museums ideally suit for an afternoon or evening. At night it’s a great idea to hang out in a bar. The old part of Stockholm is literally full of bars and clubs. Swedish clubs and bars look nearly the same like in the rest of European countries. The prices can seem quite high, but Swedish beer is brilliant. Nightlife of Stockholm is really hectic. All you need to do is to go out late and go along the streets. You will find a nice bar or club very soon.

The Sports Center in Stockholm has the shape of a large globe. There is no other ball in the world larger than that. It makes it a very interesting place to visit especially because it has an outstanding viewing point. The revolving deck moves around the Center and gets to the height of 130 meters! The Stockholm view from there is really breathtaking.
