Stockholm Christmas
Stockholm is a city which cannot be compared to any other. Winter turns the capital of Sweden into an absolutely fabulous place. The best way to check what Christmas Eve in Stockholm smells and looks like is to walk around the Old Town. It has its own inimitable ambience with the marketplace, handmade souvenirs, delicious chestnuts and of course, glogg.
Bake your Christmas bread
Skansen is probably one of the most remarkable points of interest of Stockholm. It is a very popular open-air museum founded long ago in 1891. Fans of the local architecture will be satisfied. Furthermore, there are whole buildings not only preserved but still functioning! You just need to come here during the last evening before Christmas and see yourself those schools, forging shops and post offices.
It the late December they hold a great Christmas market in Skansen. One couldn’t imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this place. In case if you are not a a big shopper you can, for instance, try baking some bread with the 19th century bakery equipment. Looks rather challenging, doesn’t it?
Several hunderds of tourists come to Skansen market every day. Please, don’t get angry and don’t flee away from crowd and queues and you will sense the festive atmosphere.
Shopping for everyone
Stureplan square in Stockholm will charm you even if you are a convinced shopping hater. People love walking around and noticing interesting things. Stureplan should be a point in your Christmas route. There is no other place in Europe that preserves this Scandinavian spirit.
If you feel tired of shopping – check out a great skate-rink located not far away. It’s a very popular place where mainly tourists come. Therefore the skating rink is the most suitable place for striking up new acquaintances.
Spend your time with family
The Stockholm museums are great for both young and adult people. However, you can find a lot of special “family attractions”. Stockholm circus would be a great choice. Great artists always prepare something really exciting. The kids will be happy and thankful, believe us! Family time should be spent in interesting places just like Stockholm circus.
Ferry trips are fascinating too. You can take it near the Opera and have a travel to one of small beautiful islands. But please don’t forget that windiness is not good for water tours. But even if you are cold you can always ask the servicemen for a big and warm buck skin. When there is fine weather a ferry tour is an ideal solution.
Enjoy your time in Stockholm
Sweden is a Northern country and from time to time the weather gets really tough. Even if it’s 0C outside a biting Swedish wind can make you feel like -15C or colder. When it got windy outside it can be a reasonable idea to spend time at home.
Young tourists quite often recommend visiting Stockholm escape rooms saying that they have tremendous design and plot. Exit Games, Questrooms and lots of other places are at your service. There are more than thirty places of that kind in Stockholm!
Evening or afternoon could be spent in the National Museum or the Royal Opera. The bars in Swedish capital are awesome and you simply must see them. The old part of Stockholm is just full of clubs and bars. Stockholm clubs and bars look more or less the same like in other Europe. Swedish beer is incredible and is certainly worth trying without looking at the price. Nightlife in the Swedish capital is just fantastic. City center is full of awesome nightclubs, pubs and bars. You will find a nice bar or club very soon.

The Sports Center in Stockholm has the shape of a large globe. Actually, it’s the biggest ball in the world. This building has another attraction besides its shape – there is an outstanding sightseeing desk there. The platform revolves around the Center and rises up to 130 meters! The entire city will be in front of you.
