Stockholm Christmas
Stockholm has an especial place among all other capitals. Winter turns the capital of Sweden into an incredibly fantastic place. It’s known that the old town of Stockholm is much more attractive in winter than in summer. Maybe it is so because of that amazing spirit that presents in the old market.
Become a baker
There is a great place in Stockholm called Skansen. It is a very large outdoor museum founded long ago in 1891. All types of Swedish architecture can be seen here. One more awesome thing is that tourists can go inside of most of the old buildings. You just need to come here in the last evening before Christmas and see yourself those schools, post offices and forging shops.
In December, for example, they hold a great Christmas market in Skansen. One couldn’t imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this place. You are not feeling like purchasing anything? OK, but what about baking your Christmas bread in the bakery from nineteenth century? Challenging, isn’t it?
Several hunderds of guests come to the market in Skansen daily. Please, be patient and don’t flee away from crowd and queues and you will feel the festive spirit.
Shopping for non-shoppers
You will turn into a true shopping fan if you visit Stureplan square. People love walking around and noticing cute things. Stureplan cannot be ignored during your Christmas holidays. There is no better attraction in the world which has this Scandinavian spirit.
If you are tired of doing shopping – go to a great skate-rink located not far from the market. It’s a well-known place where mostly foreign tourists spend time. It turns the rink into an ideal place for meeting new people.
Spend your time with family
Travelers of all ages will highly appreciate Stockholm museums. Anyway, there are also some activities mainly oriented on families with little kids. Stockholm circus could be a great choice. Great performers will prepare something incredibly exciting. Don’t worry, your children will not be disappointed! Family time should be spent in nice places like Stockholm circus.
There are also ferry tours. Find a ferry just near the Opera and go for a great tour around the see area. But please don’t forget that windy weather is not favorable for water tours. There are thick and warm buck skins on board for the people who are cold. When there is fine weather in Stockholm a ferry tour is an ideal solution.
Fun for everyone
Sweden is a country on the North and from time to time the weather is really tough. Even if it’s zero degrees outside a biting Swedish wind makes it feel like -15C at least. When it’s windy outside it can be a sensible idea to spend time at home.
Young tourists and just the enthusiasts who love thrilling ambience will definitely appreciate local escape rooms. Exit Games, Questrooms and other places are waiting for you. There are almost 3 dozens of escape rooms here in Stockholm!
Evening or afternoon can be spent in the National Museum or the Royal Opera. The bars in Swedish capital are awesome and you just must see them. There are plenty of them in the center and in the old town. Stockholm bars and clubs look nearly the same like in other European countries. Swedish capital is a rather costly city, but you must taste the local beer brands. Stockholm nightlife is really active. All you need is to go out late and go along the streets. Everyone will quickly and easily find a cool place.
Enjoy a great view of Stockholm
Stockholm Sports Center looks like a very big ball. Actually, it’s the biggest ball in the world. In addition, you could enjoy a great view from the Sports Center viewing platform. The platform revolves around the Center and rises up to 130 meters! The Stockholm view from there is really breathtaking.
Don’t miss the Christmas Eve in Stockholm, you will feel perfect here!
