Christmas in Stockholm
Stockholm has a unique reputation among all other European capitals. In the winter time it resembles a fantasy town due to its neat and clean streets and decorations put on nearly every building. Stockholm older part always looks great, however in winter it gains even more charm. You will be surprised with its tremendous look and with the old market located there.
Become a baker
Skansen belongs to the most memorable points of interest in Stockholm. This well-known open-air museum was built in 1891. All kinds of local architecture can be seen here. One more awesome thing is that tourists can get inside of most of those buildings. Schools, bakeris, post offices and forging shops are the most charming in the last evening before Christmas when everybody can get inside and join funny competitions.
It the late December they hold a nice Christmas market in Skansen. All guests who would like to know what “Stockholm tourism” is like should certainly visit it. You are not feeling like buying souvenirs? OK, but what would you say about baking Christmas bread in the bakery from nineteenth century? Challenging, isn’t it?
Christmas market in Skansen alwaus gathers hundreds and even thousands of tourists. Patience will be very helpful since there probably will be queues, however it’s still definitely worth coming.
Shopping for non-shoppers
Stureplan square in Stockholm will charm you even if you are a convinced non-shopper. Buying doesn’t have to be the best part here. The biggest pleasure is in walking around and finding unusual things. It’s really a great idea to go to to Stureplan on Christmas Eve. There is no other place in Europe that preserves this Scandinavian spirit.
If you are exhausted of shopping – go to a great skate-rink situated not far away. People from abroad love that ice-skating rink and regularly come there. It makes the skating rink the best place for meeting new people.
Family entertainment
The Stockholm museums are amusing for both young and adult guests. Anyway, there are some activities aimed mainly on parents and children. Stockholm circus could be an awesome choice. Each show there is good for watching it with family. Don’t worry, the children will not be dissatisfied! Family time should be spent in great places like Stockholm circus.
There are also ferry trips. One can find a ferry just near the Opera and go for a great tour around the see area. But please remember that windy weather is not good for water tours. But even if you get numb you may always ask for a big and warm buck skin. You can delight your eyes with splendid views from the ferry if the weather is nice.
Fun for everyone
Stockholm has a small light day in December and from time to time the weather gets just unbearable. Even if the temperature seems to be bearable the piercing wind can spoil all plans. When it’s windy outside it can be a reasonable idea to stay at home.
Young travelers and just the enthusiasts who like suspense will appreciate Stockholm escape rooms. There are dozens of different escape rooms and you may easily find the information about them on the Internet. Experienced escapers can find more than 2 dozens of places of that kind!
Royal Opera and museums are great for an afternoon leisure. At night it will be an awesome idea to hang out in a local bar. The old town is literally full of bars and clubs. Swedish bars and clubs look more or less the same like in the rest of European countries. The capital of Sweden is a quiet expensive place, but you just must taste the local beer brands. Awesome nightlife is also a significant thing of Stockholm. City center is full of awesome nightclubs, pubs and bars. It’s not a big deal to find a nice place to stay.

Stockholm Sports Center looks like a very big ball. There is no other ball in the world larger than that. In addition, you could enjoy a great view from the Sports Center viewing platform. The revolving deck moves around the Center and gets to the height of 130 meters! The Stockholm view from there is really breathtaking.
