Stockholm has a unique reputation among all other capitals. Winter Stockholm looks like a part of some fairytale reality. Tourists often say the old town of Stockholm is much more amusing in in winter. It has its own unmatched atmosphere with the marketplace, handmade souvenirs, sweet chestnuts and glogg.

As for the Stockholm attractions we’d like to mention Skansen. Since 1891 Skansen has remained the most interesting open-air museum in Scandinavia. All kinds of local architecture are presented here. One more great thing is that tourists can get inside of most of the old buildings. Bakeries, schools, post offices and forging shops are the most interesting in the last pre-Christmas evening when you can go inside and take part in funny competitions.
It the second half of December there is a nice Christmas market in Skansen. One couldn’t imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this place. You don’t have to buy anything if you don’t like shopping. You could try to bake your own bread instead. Looks challenging, doesn’t it?

Stureplan square in Stockholm will charm you even if you are an inveterate non-shopper. Some say that the whole pleasure is not about the goods you buy but to the process itself. Stureplan should certainly be visited in your Christmas holidays. There is no better attraction in the world which preserves such a Scandinavian ambience.
After shopping you may go for ice-skating and have a great entertainment with your family and friends. It’s a very popular place where mainly foreigners spend time. Therefore the rink is an ideal place for striking up new acquaintances.
Spend your time with family
The museums of the Swedish capital are amusing for both young and adult guests. But there are certain attractions made for families. For example, you could go together to Stockholm circus. Great artists always prepare something incredibly amusing. Don’t worry, the kids will not be disappointed! All kids like exciting performances so they will fall in love with Stockholm circus.
Ferry tours are fascinating as well. You can take it near the Opera and then go to small beautiful islands. Anyway, please remember that strong wind is not a good weather for taking sea trips. But even if you are cold you can always ask the employees for a thick and incredibly cozy buck skin. You can delight your eyes with magnificent views from the deck if the weather is nice.

Let’s remember that Stockholm is a Northern capital and occasionally it’s cold there. Even if it’s zero degrees outside a keen wind makes it feel like it’s -15C or colder. When it’s windy in the street it can be a good idea to stay inside.

Evening or afternoon can be spent in the National Museum or the Royal Opera. The Stockholm bars are marvelous and you just must check them. The Stockholm old town is full of night clubs and bars. In fact most of Stockholm bars and pubs can be compared to the European counterparts. The capital of Sweden is a quiet costly city, but you must try the local beer brands. Nightlife of Stockholm is very active. Great bars and clubs can be found in any part of city center. Everyone will quickly and easily find a cool place.

Stockholm Sports Center looks like a very big ball. Check out the largest ball in the world. It makes it a very interesting place to visit especially because it has an outstanding viewing point. You will see entire Stockholm at a plain sight from the height of 130 meters! The Stockholm view from there is really breathtaking.
