Christmas in the fairy tale
Stockholm is a city that can’t be compared to others. Winter turns Stockholm into an absolutely fabulous town. Stockholm Medieval part looks great all the time, but in winter it becomes incredibly charming. Maybe the reason is the fantastic spirit that presents in the old marketplace.
Turn into a baker
As for the Stockholm attractions we’d like to mention Skansen. This well-known outdoor museum was built in 1891. Connoisseurs of the local architecture will be satisfied. What is more, some of the old buildings still work! Schools, bakeris, forging shops and post offices are the most interesting in the last evening before Christmas when one can get inside and join funny competitions.
Skansen is also the host of the Christmas marketplace in December. It’s impossible to think of winter Stockholm tourism without this place. You don’t even have to buy anything if you don’t want to. You could try to bake a fresh bread instead. Challenging, isn’t it?
Several hunderds of guests come to the market in Skansen every day. Therefore you are recommended to be ready for a big crowd and have plenty of patience.
When non-shoppers like shopping
Stureplan square is an exciting touristic site with outstanding local market. They say that all the pleasure is not about the goods you pay for but to the shopping itself. Stureplan cannot be ignored in your Christmas holidays. There is no other place in Europe that preserves such a Scandinavian spirit.
Ice-skating is a good solution after shopping, the skating rink is not fat from Stureplan. It’s a very popular place where mainly foreigners come. It turns the rink into the best place for getting to know new people.
Spend your time with family
Without a doubt, museums of Stockholm are a great option for people of all ages. All in all, there are certain attractions created for families. Stockholm circus would be an awesome choice. Great artists always prepare something incredibly exciting. Your kids will have really much fun! Children appreciate exciting shows so they will love Stockholm circus.
There are also ferry tours. They start the tour near Opera and go through the group of small islands. But please keep in mind that windy weather is not good for water tours. But even if you get numb you can always ask the employees for a big and incredibly cozy buck skin. When there is fine weather a ferry trip is a perfect pastime.
Enjoy your time in Stockholm
Sweden is a Northern land and from time to time the weather can be really severe. Low temperature is typically not a big problem, however the penetrating wind is. When it’s windy outside it could be a reasonable idea to spend time at home.
Young people and just the enthusiasts who like suspense will highly appreciate Stockholm escape rooms. Check Questrooms, Exit Games and other attraction sites like that. Experienced escape room fans can visit more than 2 dozens of rooms like this!
Local museums and Royal Opera are great for an afternoon or evening. The Stockholm bars are marvelous and you literally must visit them. The greatest place for night hanging out is the Medieval town. Swedish bars and clubs look nearly the same like in the rest of European countries. The prices can be quite high, but anyway Swedish beer shoul be tried. Active nightlife is also a significant thing of Stockholm. All you need is to go out and go along the streets. It’s not a big deal to find a nice place to stay.
Picturesque view of the capital
Globe-shaped Sports Center is another attraction of Stockholm. Check out the largest ball in the world. In addition, you could enjoy a great view from the Sports Center viewing platform. The revolving deck moves around the Center and gets to the height of 130 meters! Entire Stockholm will be seen in plain sight.
Don’t miss the Christmas Eve in Stockholm, you will feel perfect here!
