Christmas in the fairy tale
Stockholm has a unique reputation among all other capitals. Winter Stockholm resembles a piece belonging to a parallel fairytale world. By some reason the old town of Stockholm is much more attractive in in winter. It possesses its own inimitable spirit with the handmade souvenirs, marketplace, sweet chestnuts and of course, glogg.
Turn into a baker
As for the Stockholm attractions we’d like to mention Skansen. Since 1891 Skansen has been the most fascinating open-air museum in entire Scandinavia. Fans of Swedish architecture will be happy. One more awesome thing is that you can go inside of most of those buildings. The most exciting events begin in the evening of December, 24.
In December, for instance, they have a great Christmas market in Skansen. It’s impossible to imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this fabulous place. You are not feeling like purchasing souvenirs? OK, but what do you think about baking your Christmas bread in the bakery from nineteenth century? Challenging enough, isn’t it?

Stureplan cannot be ignored in your Christmas holidays. One will hardly find such a site with such a Scandinavian atmosphere in any other part of the planet.
If you are exhausted of shopping – go to a great skate-rink located not far from the market. The skating rink visitors are typically foreign tourists. It makes the skating rink a perfect place for getting to know new people.

The National Museum and the Royal Opera suit well for an afternoon visit. The Stockholm bars are marvelous and as a tourist literally must check them. The greatest place for tasting local nightlife is the Medieval town. As a matter of fact the majority of Stockholm pubs and bars can be compared to the European counterparts. The capital of Sweden is a rather expensive city, but you must try the local beer brands. Stormy nightlife is another significant characteristic of Stockholm. City center is full of awesome nightclubs, pubs and bars. You will find a nice bar or club very soon.
