As for the Stockholm attractions we should definitely mention Skansen. Since 1891 Skansen has remained the most fascinating open-air museum in Scandinavia. Connoisseurs of Swedish architecture will be happy. More than that, some of those old buildings still work! You just need to come in the last evening before Christmas and see those amazing old schools, bakeries, post offices and forging shops.
It the late December there is a nice Christmas market in Skansen. If you wish to explore the winter ambience of Swedish capital – come here. You don’t need to buy anything if you don’t really like shopping. You could go and bake a fresh bread instead. Looks challenging, doesn’t it?
Skansen market gathers more than thousand visitors daily. Therefore you should be prepared for a large crowd and be patient.
When non-shoppers like shopping
Stureplan square in Stockholm will touch your feelings even if you are an inveterate non-shopper. Some say that the pleasure is related not to the souvenirs you pay for but to the process itself. Stureplan should not be ignored in your Christmas holidays. You will never find such a place with such a Scandinavian ambience in any part of the planet.
If you feel tired of doing shopping – go to a great skate-rink situated not far from the market. It’s a well-known place where mostly foreigners spend time. So if you like meeting new friends it’s going to be a perfect place to do it.
Family entertainment
The Stockholm museums are amusing for both young and adult guests. All in all, there are certain attractions created specifically for parents and kids. Stockholm circus could be a great choice. They offer a large number of shows for the kids and adults. Your kids will have so much fun! Stockholm circus is a brilliant place for any family tour.
Ferry tours are fascinating too. They start near the Opera building and pass the group of small islands. But please remember that blowing weather is not favorable for that. But even if you get numb you may always ask the employees for a big and incredibly cozy buck skin. You can delight your eyes with splendid views from the deck if it is not snowy.

The Sports Center in Stockholm has the shape of a large globe. Check out the largest ball in the world. This building has another attraction besides its shape – there is an outstanding sightseeing desk there. You will see entire Stockholm at a plain sight from the height of 130 meters! The entire city will be in front of you.
