Skansen belongs to the most memorable points of interest of Swedish capital. Since 1891 Skansen has remained the most amusing open-air museum in entire Scandinavia. Connoisseurs of Swedish architecture will be happy. One more cool thing is that tourists can go inside of most of the old buildings. You just should come in the last evening before Christmas and see all those old schools, bakeries, post offices and forging shops.
Skansen is also the host of the Christmas market during whole December. One couldn’t imagine winter Stockholm tourism without this place. In case if you are not a a big shopper you can, for example, try your hands in baking bread with the 19th century bakery equipment. Challenging enough, isn’t it?
Skansen market gathers more than thousand tourists daily. Therefore you should be prepared for a lot of people and have plenty of patience.
When non-shoppers like shopping
You will quickly become an inveterate shopper if you go to Stureplan square. People like walking around and watching cute things. Stureplan should certainly be visited in your Christmas holidays. One will never find such a site with such a Scandinavian atmosphere in any other corner of the planet.
Ice-skating is a great thing after shopping, the skating rink is not fat from Stureplan. People from abroad like that ice-skating rink and often go there. It means that if you like meeting new friends it can be an ideal place for that.
Family fare
The Stockholm museums are definitely great for both young and adult guests. However, you can find a lot of special “family attractions“. Stockholm circus could be a great choice. Great artists will prepare something really amusing. Your kids will have so much fun! Family leisure should be spent in interesting places like Stockholm circus.
Another great thing is ferry. They begin near the Opera building and then get to the small islands. But one should be careful – in a windy weather it is very cold aboard. But even if you get numb you can always ask the servicemen for a big and incredibly cozy buck skin. You can delight your eyes with magnificent views from the ferry if it is not snowy.

Globe-shaped Sports Center is another attraction of Stockholm. Check out the largest ball in the world. This building has another attraction besides its shape – there is an outstanding sightseeing desk there. The revolving deck moves around the Center and gets to the height of 130 meters! The entire city will be in front of you.
