Christmas in Stockholm

Stockholm is a capital that can’t be compared to others. Winter Stockholm resembles a part belonging to a parallel fairytale reality. The best way to check what Christmas Eve in Stockholm looks like is to stroll around the Old Town. Probably it is so because of the amazing atmosphere that presents in the old market.

Bake your Christmas bread

As for the Stockholm attractions we’d like to mention Skansen. Since 1891 Skansen has been the most interesting open-air museum in entire Scandinavia. Connoisseurs of the local architecture will be satisfied. One more cool thing is that guests can go inside of most of those old buildings. The most interesting events begin in the evening of December, 24.

In December, for example, they have a great Christmas market in Skansen. All people who want to know what “Stockholm tourism” is about should certainly visit it. You are not feeling like buying anything? OK, but what would you say about baking Christmas bread in the 19th century bakery? Looks challenging, doesn’t it?

Several hunderds of guests come to Skansen market daily. Please, don’t get angry and don’t avoid queues and crowd and you will feel the festive spirit.

When non-shoppers like shopping

Stureplan square is an exciting touristic site with outstanding local market. Buying is actually not the best part of it. The biggest satisfaction is in going around and finding unusual things. It’s really a great idea to go to to Stureplan before Christmas. There is no other attraction in Europe which has this Scandinavian spirit.

If you feel tired of shopping – visit a great skate-rink located not far away. The skating rink visitors are mainly foreign travelers. So if you feel like meeting new friends it seems to be an ideal place to do it.

Family entertainment

Visitors of all ages will highly appreciate the museums of the Swedish capital. All in all, there are also places created for families. Tourists love Stockholm circus so it would be fantastic if you go there. They have a wide selection of shows for the kids and adults. Your children will have really much fun! Family leisure should be spent in nice places just like Stockholm circus.

There are also tours on ferry. You can go to this tour near the Opera and have a travel to one of small amusing islands. But be very careful – if it’s a windy weather it is very cold on board. There are warm and thick buck skins on board for the people who are cold. You can enjoy incomparable views from the ferry if it is not snowy.

Enjoy your time in Stockholm

Stockholm has a small daylight in winter and sometimes the weather is just horrible. Even if it’s zero temperature outside a piercing Swedish wind can make it feel like it’s -15C at least. Wind is something really annoying which can make you give up and decide to choose some indoor activity.

One could check out the local attractions called rooms that are really popular among tourists. Check Questrooms, Exit Games and other sites like that. There are nearly three dozens of escape rooms here in Stockholm!

Local museums and Royal Opera are great for an afternoon leisure. Stockholm nightlife is another amusing tourists’ attraction. The most interesting place for night hanging out is the old town. Swedish bars and clubs look nearly the same like in other European countries. Swedish beer is incredibly specific and is definitely worth trying regardless of the price. Nightlife in Stockholm is just fantastic. Great bars and clubs can be found in any part of city center. It’s not a big deal to find a nice place to stay.

See the whole globe from the Globe

Stockholm Sports Center looks like a very big ball. Actually, it’s the biggest ball in the world. It makes it a very interesting place to visit especially because it has an outstanding viewing point. You will see entire Stockholm at a plain sight from the height of 130 meters! Entire Stockholm will be seen in plain sight.
