Christmas in Stockholm
Stockholm is a city which can’t be compared to others. In the winter time it looks a lot like a fairytale town due to its clean and neat streets and decorations put on nearly every building. Stockholm Old Town always looks perfect, but in winter it gains even more charm. You will be astonished with its tremendous look and with the old market located there.
Guide Stockholm-Bake your Christmas bread
As for the Stockholm attractions we’d like to mention Skansen. It is a very famous outdoor museum founded in 1891. You could see all types of Swedish architecture there. One more great thing is that guests can go inside of most of those old buildings. Bakeries, schools, post offices and forging shops are the most attractive during the last pre-Christmas evening when one can get inside and take part in funny competitions.
In December, for example, they arrange a Christmas market in Skansen. If you wish to feel the winter ambience of Stockholm – come here. You are not feeling like buying souvenirs? OK, but what about baking Christmas bread in the 19th century bakery? Looks rather challenging, doesn’t it?
Skansen market gathers more than thousand tourists daily. Patience will save you a lot of energy here since there probably will be a crowd, although it’s still definitely worth coming.
When non-shoppers like shopping
You will quickly become a true shopping fan if you go to Stureplan square. Buying is actually not the best part. The main satisfaction is in walking around and finding unusual things. Stureplan should be an important point of your Christmas Eve tour. There is no other attraction in the world which has such a Scandinavian spirit.
Ice-skating is a good activity after shopping, the skating rink is quite near to Stureplan. The skating rink visitors are usually foreigners. Therefore the rink is the most suitable place for making new acquaintances.
Spend your time with family
The Stockholm museums are interesting for tourists of all generations. However, you can find certain “family attractions”. For example, you could go together to Stockholm circus. Great performers will prepare something really exciting. Your family will have so much fun! Stockholm circus is a must-see place for any tour with family.
Ferry tours are exciting as well. They start near Opera and then get to the small islands. But be careful – in a windy day it can be very cold aboard. There are warm and thick buck skins on a ferry for the people who are cold. When there is good weather in Stockholm a ferry trip is a perfect pastime.

Sweden is a Northern country and from time to time its weather gets really tough. Even if the air temperature looks OK the wind can spoil all plans. When it’s windy in the street it could be a sensible idea to stay inside.
